Brought to you by the Tourism Association of Nova Scotia

Time now for your TIANS Player of the Game interview!

Dartmouth, NS - We are thrilled to have Isaac Delaney-Nguyen from the Dartmouth Whalers join us after an exciting exhibition game against the Halifax Hawks that ended in a thrilling 3-3 tie. Isaac, who opened the scoring for his team and assisted on the final goal, shares his insights on what it takes to perform under pressure and how teamwork is crucial in high-stakes situations.

The game was a testament to the intensity of youth ice hockey, and Isaac describes the atmosphere on the ice as electric. “It was a really fun game, and I enjoyed watching all the players play,” he says, reflecting on the competitive spirit that drives players to give their all. As they gear up for the SEDMHA tournament later this month, every practice and game counts, and Isaac is keen to build on this momentum.

One of the more light-hearted moments in our conversation revolved around pre-game rituals. When asked about his meal before the game, Isaac shared that he had cereal and a banana, specifically Multi Grain Cheerios. It’s a reminder that even elite athletes have simple routines that help them feel ready for action.

But it’s not all about the game. Isaac also opened up about his favorite place in Nova Scotia—his grandparents' house in New Glasgow. He fondly recalls the delicious meals his grandmother makes, particularly her chocolate chip cookies. This personal touch adds a layer of warmth to our conversation, highlighting the balance between sport and family that many athletes cherish.
